2008 Mercury Prize

2008년 머큐리상 Mercury Prize (스폰서 때문에 2008년은 Nationwide Mercury Prize로 변경) 수상자가 결정되었다.

영국시간으로 2008년 9월 9일에 열린 머큐리상 수상은 네번째 앨범 「The Seldom Seen Kid」(Fiction, 2008)를 발표한 인디 록 밴드 엘보 Elbow.
이 앨범으로 미국 진출을 노렸지만 실패... 그래도 1991년에 발표한 데뷔 앨범 「Asleep In The Back」(V2, 2001) 이후 이렇다할 성과를 내지 못했던 것을 보상받았다. <Grounds For Divorce>는  앨범의 첫 싱글.
